What the work pays

Standard residential cleaning starts at $25 per hour. Certain specialty assignments — including qualifying Move-In/Move-Out cleaning assignments — pay $30–$35 per hour depending on the assignment. Not every assignment pays the specialty rate, so we use $25+/hour as the honest headline number.

Payment is made daily for completed qualifying work, according to Tallahassee Maid's contractor payment procedures. Contractors are paid as independent 1099 contractors — not as salaried or hourly employees.

Available cleaning opportunities are offered out to contractors in our network. You decide which ones fit your week. There's no set schedule to keep and no obligation to accept an assignment — you largely control the work you take. Because you choose, we can't promise any particular number of assignments or hours.

We keep assignments local on purpose. Spend your day cleaning — not driving halfway across North Florida. Our service territory covers the Tallahassee-area market:

When the work happens

Cleaning opportunities are generally available Monday through Saturday, roughly between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM. You tell us the days you're interested in and choose from what's available.

Occasional Sunday assignments come up, and those are limited to Move-In/Move-Out cleaning. We don't normally schedule routine residential cleaning on Sundays.

Professional experience required

We love people who take pride in a beautifully clean home — but this opportunity is for cleaners who already have professional cleaning experience. Residential or commercial experience is welcome, including professional housekeeping and equivalent paid professional cleaning work. Cleaning your own home, as well as you may do it, doesn't meet this requirement.

What you'll need

You bring the tools of the trade. Contractors provide their own professional-quality cleaning products and equipment that meet Tallahassee Maid's approved product standards — we share that list during onboarding.

Be at least 18 years old
Have a valid driver's license
Have your own reliable vehicle
Maintain current automobile insurance
Maintain your own general liability / business liability coverage for your cleaning business
Provide your own professional-quality cleaning supplies and equipment
Use professional-quality products that meet Tallahassee Maid's approved product standards
Have previous paid professional residential or commercial cleaning experience
Be able to independently perform professional-quality cleaning
Be able to accept cleaning assignments that fall within your chosen availability
Be able to provide required documentation during contractor onboarding

Paperwork, kept simple

Don't send us any documents yet. The form below asks only for the basics. If you're selected to move forward, you'll need to be able to provide a valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and current general liability / business liability insurance during onboarding.

Because contractors work independently inside customers' homes, we also ask for a short eligibility confirmation on the form.
